Serpentine

1995

223 cm w.p.

Volar  works in marble, granite and other stones. His special passion applies however to the Zöblitzer serpentine, which is mined in the native Erzgebirge and was called "marble of the Saxonian cure princes". Volar is one of the few, which struggles still in large dimensions with this stone, also in hope, that its beauty, its culture-historical meaning and the various artistic processing options, which it offers will not fall into oblivion.

The work VII/1 is a big sculpture from serpentine over 2 m high. In the middle of the stone there is a hole.
